Around the bend? TDS Telecom acquires BendBroadband for USD261m

Telephone and Data Systems, the parent company of TDS Telecom, has agreed to acquire substantially all of the assets belonging to BendBroadband, for a purchase price of USD261 million. Based in Bend, Oregon, BendBroadband is a full-service telecoms company, which offers an extensive portfolio of services to residential customers in Central Oregon. The transaction is expected to close in the third quarter of 2014, pending regulatory approvals and other conditions.

As of 31 December 2013 BendBroadband passed approximately 79,000 homes and businesses, with approximately 36,000 video subscribers, 41,000 broadband customers and 22,000 digital voice users. The telco generated annual revenues of USD70 million in FY2013.
