Reliance Communications (RCOM) has reportedly entered into a strategic inter-circle roaming partnership with both Tata Teleservices (TTSL) and Aircel with a view to offering its GSM customers pan-India 3G services. According to India’s Economic Times, the partnerships will allow RCOM to access TTSL and Aircel’s 3G networks in Chennai, Hyderabad, Bengaluru, Kochi, Uttar Pradesh (East) and Uttar Pradesh (West), Gujarat and Maharashtra. RCOM currently offers 3G services in 13 Circles nationally, those being: Delhi, Mumbai, Kolkata, Punjab, Rajasthan, Madhya Pradesh, West Bengal, Himachal Pradesh, Bihar, Orissa, Assam, North East and Jammu & Kashmir. Commenting on the partnership agreements, RCOM’s CEO for Consumer Business Gurdeep Singh was cited as saying: ‘These alliances will further consolidate RCOM’s position as the leading data operator in the country and will help the company improve its post-paid and corporate customer market share.’
