Zamir Telecom has announced that its joint venture with Exchange Telecom, enabling multiple STM1 capacity across four cities in Nigeria, has directly connected the company to all mobile network operators (MNOs) in the country. Zamir Telecom says the move gives it a unique position of terminating high quality voice traffic through a direct route to all MNOs in the country. Exchange Telecom, which holds a licence to interconnect mobile operators as a clearing house, chose Zamir Telecom as its technical partner to manage operations to enable required capacity across four cities – Lagos, Kano, Port Harcourt and Ibadan. Zamir Telecom is now providing a managed service to operate and maintain the network. ‘Africa is a very strong growth market for us and customers have been asking for a direct route into Nigeria,’ commented founder and managing director of Zamir Telecom, Naufal Zamir, adding: ‘Our work with Exchange has provided us with a high-quality network over which we can offer wholesale connectivity.’
