Zain, OTMT extend Lebanese mobile contracts for further three months

Kuwait’s Zain Group and Egypt’s Orascom Telecom Media and Technology Holding (OTMT) have both confirmed over the last week that they have extended their mobile network management contracts with Lebanon’s government for a further three months. Lebanon’s Ministry of Telecoms signed the agreements with Zain and OTMT to continue their long-standing management of Touch Lebanon (Zain) and Alfa (OTMT) for the period commencing 1 April 2014 and ending 30 June 2014. Terms and conditions of contracts remain the same. ‘Being awarded this further extension, despite its short duration, OTMT remains committed to playing a positive role in the development of the mobile sector in Lebanon,’ the Egyptian company said in a statement.
