Telfort launches 4G

8 Apr 2014

The Dutch mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) Telfort, which is part of the KPN Group, has gone ahead with its launch of 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) services, a week after its planned switch-on, Telecompaper reports. The operator announced in the run-up to the proposed 31 March introduction of 4G that it would be postponing the launch due to ‘technical problems’. It has now discovered that those problems are limited to Samsung handsets so has implemented its InternetVersneller 4G tariff, which enables existing Telfort customers to upgrade to 4G data speeds for EUR5 (USD6.86) a month. Samsung users must apply a software update before being able to access the new LTE-based offering.
