Digicel PNG has reportedly switched on its first ten LTE base stations, bringing 4G connectivity to post-paid subscribers in the capital Port Moresby. With the company confirming the development in a post on Facebook, Digicel PNG chief executive John Mangos was cited as saying: ‘We have started with the first ten sites here in Port Moresby for post-paid customers. In time this service will be rolled out to the other provincial and district centres, and eventually made available to our pre-paid customers as this move is intended to provide the best possible network experience to as many locations as possible.’ Of the ten initial sites, eight are said to have been constructed in the city’s central business district, while the other two cover the residential areas of Savannah Heights and Gordons.
