Hutch introduces 4G mobile VPN

Hong Kong cellco Hutchison Telephone Company (3) has launched a mobile Virtual Private Network (VPN) service over its 4G LTE and 3G networks, aimed at corporate customers who can use a mobile device to access their companies’ information systems and applications securely via 3’s high speed mobile data network. A press release says that ‘4G LTE Mobile VPN helps satisfy upwardly-spiralling mobile broadband demand from corporate customers by providing secure and reliable connectivity and data transmission to support a variety of business applications. All data is encrypted in the transmission process, enabling corporate customers to trade securely anytime. An example would be the kind of internal system automation that allows field sales personnel to get orders processed. 3 Hong Kong’s Mobile VPN is ideal for banks, financial institutions and enterprises running real-time mission-critical operations. Corporate customers are also provided with a secure connection within a private network made available via public network infrastructure. This allows users to stay connected to an internal system and conduct business from anywhere. Such activities could include accessing documents, updating reports and taking part in webinars. Customers can choose from a variety of secure Internet Protocol (IP) configurations, including fixed-public IP, fixed-private IP, dynamic-public IP and dynamic-private IP.’
