Kabel Deutschland expands VoD coverage to 570,000 homes

German cableco Kabel Deutschland has expanded the coverage of its video on demand (VoD) service to a number of new towns and cities, including Hannover, Nuremberg and Osnabruck. An additional 570,000 households are now able to access Select Video’s content library of around 3,500 films and 4,500 television programmes, raising total coverage to 3.6 million homes across the company’s cable distribution area. The service was first launched in March 2011. Kabel Deutschland, which last year was bought by Vodafone Group, operates cable networks in 13 federal states in Germany and supplies approximately 8.4 million connected households.
