Ooredoo mulling taking stake in Digicel tower company

17 Mar 2014

Ooredoo Myanmar is reportedly considering plans to acquire a 10% stake in Digicel Asia Holding’s Myanmar tower company, TMT Finances writes, citing unnamed sources. The deal is understood to be part of the Qatari-backed cellco’s network rollout agreement with the Digicel-led consortium. Ooredoo had signed a deal with the consortium, which also includes Yoma Strategic Holding Finance (YSH) and First Myanmar Investment (FMI), in December 2013 to develop, construct and lease towers across the country.
