MCMC invites submissions for public cellular universal service provider

17 Mar 2014

The Malaysian Communications and Multimedia Commission (MCMC) has invited operators to register their interest to become a universal service provider (USP) for the provision of public cellular services. Interested licensees can apply to either become a USP for the installation of tower and infrastructure (‘Part 1’), the installation of equipment and electronics (‘Part 2’), or both. A deadline of 31 March 2014 for submissions has been set by the regulator. Further, those companies applying are also required to submit a relevant draft universal service plan on or before 14 April 2014.
