Dhivehi Raajjeyge Gulhun (Dhiraagu), the Maldives’ incumbent telecoms operator, has increased the maximum downstream connection rate offered over its ADSL network from 10Mbps to 15Mbps. The company’s new ‘Pro Unlimited 15M’ tariff is priced at MVR1,690 (USD109) per month with a fair usage allowance of 115GB. ‘As the nation’s widest ADSL internet provider we always strive to provide our customers with the best variety of options that gives our customers greater flexibility, more saving and a good experience,’ noted Dhiraagu’s senior marketing communications and PR executive Imjad Jaleel. Dhiraagu, which is 52%-owned by Bahrain Telecommunications Company (Batelco), began offering ADSL broadband connections in August 2002.
