State-backed broadband and mobile provider Une-EPM has booked revenues of more than COP2 trillion (USD978 million) in the full year ended 31 December 2013, an increase of 10% year-on-year. The telco’s EBITDA, meanwhile expanded from COP436 billion to COP510 billion over the same period. Une attributed to the growth to a strong position in the mobile data, fixed broadband and pay-TV segments. Une also noted that expansion in the corporate sector has fuelled growth, with the addition of several major corporate clients to its user base. Investments in infrastructure totalled COP430 billion in 2013, and featured expansion work to its fixed broadband and wireless Long Term Evolution (LTE) networks. Une’s president Marc Perret Eichmann commented on the provider’s plans for the year: ‘In 2014 the expansion of networks will continue to drive our main organizational goal of customer focus. We are committed to … [providing] a better quality service and satisfaction.’
