E-Plus LTE launch set for next month

21 Feb 2014

E-Plus, the German mobile unit of Dutch telecoms group KPN, will begin providing its LTE services in early March, with all customers offered 4G data speeds at no additional cost. The company says that the LTE offensive forms part of its data-centric business model, under which all E-Plus customers have been offered the highest possible data rates available on its 3.5G network since 1 December 2013, regardless of their tariff plan and at no additional cost. E-Plus claims that its UMTS network covers 80% of the population, with 97% of its mobile base stations upgraded to HSPA+ technology.
