TT selects Alca-Lu for network upgrade

19 Feb 2014

State-backed telco Tunisie Telecom (TT) has signed a three year deal with French-US vendor Alcatel-Lucent to upgrade the provider’s network, as part of plans to develop TT’s voice and data networks into a single IP infrastructure. TT has selected solutions from Alca-Lu’s Intelligent Services Access Manager (ISAM) portfolio to upgrade ‘tens of thousands’ of TT’s existing voice lines to provide broadband using ADSL, VDSL and GPON technology. Under the deal, Alca-Lu will provide its 7302, 7330 and 7353 ISAM solutions, its 5526 Access Management System and customised street cabinets. The agreement follows the successful trial of VDSL2 vectoring technology over TT’s network and using Alca-Lu’s 7302 ISAM solution in December 2012.
