Canadian telco Bell Aliant has reported its financial results for the year ended 31 December 2013, in which its consolidated annual revenues declined slightly, by 0.1% to CAD2.759 billion (USD2.488 billion), although it announced that this was the best year-on-year revenue performance in the last five years. Consolidated adjusted EBITDA for the full-year fell by 1.7% to CAD1.284 billion, while CAPEX spending was 3.8% lower than in 2012, at CAD570 million compared to CAD592 million. Aliant’s fibre-to-the-home (FTTH) network passed 806,000 premises at end-December 2013, while its fibre internet customers reached 184,000 at that date, after adding 18,000 net new customers in the fourth quarter. Fibre-based IPTV customers grew by a net 16,000 in Q4 2013 to reach 158,000. The FTTH network is expected to pass one million premises by the end of 2014.
