Bahraini wireless broadband provider Menatelecom has announced the full commercial launch of nationwide 4G LTE internet services, reports TradeArabia. Menatelecom chairman Abdul Razak Jawahery declared: ‘[the LTE service] will allow our customers to enjoy unlimited entertainment efficiently, whether it is from home, in business or wherever, they will remain connected to the internet at lightning-fast speeds from virtually anywhere in Bahrain. Enjoy watching smooth high quality videos without the annoyance of buffering, watch HDTV channels over your internet connection and online games will perform even better than what has been experienced before. The new Menatelecom 4G LTE service offers many options for the home, businesses and on-the-go customers. High speed packages and various devices have been tailored to suit every customer’s need.’ Menatelecom, which first switched on its TD-LTE 3500MHz network services in November 2013, currently offers a range of tariffs on its website, including ‘Menahome 4G LTE’ packages, advertised as ‘portable, high speed internet access available wherever you are and whenever you want; no Wi-Fi hotspot, no phone line.’ An entry-level 10GB Menahome LTE package costs BHD13 (USD33.65) per month with 100 voice minutes included; the Menahome tariffs range up to a premium BHD80 per month 150GB package with 600 voice minutes. Alternatively, ‘MyFi 4G LTE’ packages include a personal portable Wi-Fi hotspot device allowing the usage of up to ten Wi-Fi-enabled devices, and are offered at the same prices and data thresholds as the Menahome packages, although without any call minutes. Menatelecom also continues to offer its WiMAX-based services – which are now firmly focused on the pre-paid broadband user market.
