Altice IPO raises EUR1.3bn in first day of trading

Altice Group, the international telecoms firm founded by French entrepreneur Patrick Drahi, raised EUR1.3 billion (USD1.8 billion) in its first day of trading on the Euronext stock exchange in Amsterdam, Bloomberg reports. The firm – which specialises in the acquisition of cablecos – sold 46.1 million shares at EUR28.25 apiece, and described the initial public offering (IPO) as the largest ever by a European cable operator and the biggest in Amsterdam since 2006.
