NetCologne, RWE complete fibre rollout in Berzdorf

Regional telecoms operator NetCologne, in cooperation with utility firm RWE Deutschland, has completed the rollout of a high speed fibre-optic network in Berzdorf, a district of Wesseling in the Rhein-Erft-Kreis area of North Rhine-Westphalia. The Cologne-based company says that around 2,200 households and 300 businesses are able to access the new network, which provides maximum download speeds of up to 50Mbps. Rollout is now ongoing in Wesseling and Keldenich, and by the end of 2014 a further 11,200 homes and 400 businesses will be covered by the infrastructure.
