Uninor expansion continues across Uttar Pradesh East and West

24 Jan 2014

Norwegian-backed cellco Uninor has announced plans to expand its network in Uttar Pradesh East and has completed the deployment of additional towers in Uttar Pradesh West. In Uttar Pradesh East the provider will increase coverage by 20% in the circle with the addition of 800 new sites by June. The rollout will improve service quality and increase the population covered by the network by five million. In Uttar Pradesh, meanwhile, the cellco completed the installation of 126 news sites in the Dehradun Zone as part of ongoing efforts to install 1,050 towers in the operating area. The head of business in the circle KC Narendran commented on the rollout: ‘Uninor’s aggressive network expansion in UP West demonstrates not only our commitment to the market but it also reflects the level of demand that we are seeing from customers in the circle, particularly in the Dehradun-Haridwar belt.’
