Uninor to increase Gujarat coverage

23 Jan 2014

Norwegian-backed cellco Uninor has announced plans to expand its network coverage in the Gujarat circle by 30% with the installation of more than 800 additional sites over the next five months. The deployment is expected to increase the population served by the network by eight million. Also included in the plans, the cellco will extend its retail network with 200 new points of sale throughout the operation area. The cellco’s head of business for the circle Jinesh Hedge commented on the plans: ‘Uninor has achieved profitability in a record time while offering the lowest tariff… Uninor will continue to be the most affordable service provider, offer a profitable business proposition to its distributors and retailers and expand its network coverage that very few operators are doing in the circle.’
