Saint-Martin could witness arrival of high speed broadband by 2017

The French overseas collectivity of Saint-Martin, which is situated 300km east of Puerto Rico, is in line for inclusion in the French government’s ‘Tres Haut Debit’ broadband initiative before 2017, mission director Antoine Darodes has confirmed. Speaking to local reporters while visiting the territory, Darodes noted that the project is likely to cost between EUR10 million (USD13.7 million) and EUR15 million, while work on the deployment could start as early as 2015.
