New infrastructure regulations to come into force

From 18 January 2014 Colombian telcos and construction firms will no longer be allowed to establish exclusive contracts to create internal networks within buildings, TeleSemana writes. The new restrictions form part of the Technical Regulations for Internal Telecommunication Networks (RITEL), which were passed by the Communication Regulation Commission’s (CRC’s) Resolution 4262 of 2013. RITEL establishes technical criteria for the design, construction and provision of services through internal fixed networks.
