Tele2 biggest loser, Elisa slight winner in MNP, although slim pickings

10 Jan 2014

The Estonian Technical Surveillance Authority (ETSA) reports that three of the country’s mobile service operators saw a net increase in users from mobile number portability (MNP) in full-year 2013, namely: Elisa (12,817); EMT (2,838); and Osauhing Top Connect (2,034). Two mobile service operators saw a net decrease in users from MNP over the year, although the figures were again on a relatively small scale: Tele2 Eesti (-15,633); and ProGroup Holding (-20). Looking at fixed number portability (FNP), ETSA’s tables showed that a total of 19 service providers saw either an annual net increase or decrease in users via number porting, mostly in small quantities. Elisa gained 11,423 net new users via FNP in 2013, while Elion lost a net 13,305 retail fixed connections from users porting their number to another provider.
