The process to find a buyer for telecom towers belonging to Orange’s West African subsidiary Sonatel is expected to commence before the end of this month, TMT Finance reports. Global financial advisory and asset management firm Lazard is said to have been given the advisory mandate, and has also been given the responsibility to sell towers belonging to Orange’s Egyptian unit Mobinil. Sonatel owns over 3,000 towers in West Africa with an estimated value of around USD500 million. The tower portfolio is roughly broken down as follows: 1,600 in Senegal, 400 in Guinea, 1,000 in Mali, and 85 in Guinea-Bissau.
