O2 trials VoLTE handover on live network

Telefonica Germany, which provides fixed and mobile services under the brand O2, is carrying out tests of voice-over-LTE (VoLTE) handover across its live network. In November the company announced that it had made VoLTE technology available within the O2 network, adding that handover to 2G or 3G networks outside of LTE coverage areas would be introduced shortly. Following successful laboratory trials of the technology, Telefonica has begun tests across the O2 live network, and plans to make VoLTE handover available to end users over the next few months.
