Irish operators shun 1800MHz spectrum

8 Jan 2014

Ireland’s Commission for Communications Regulation (ComReg) has announced that it received no offers for the three lots of 1800MHz wireless spectrum that were put up for sale late last year. The watchdog says there are no plans to re-run the auction for at least the next twelve months. 1800MHz frequencies are currently being utilised by the country’s trio of 2G network operators, Vodafone, O2 and Meteor Mobile.
