Ooredoo widens 3.5G network footprint

Ooredoo Maldives (known as Wataniya Maldives until last month when the cellco was rebranded under the new moniker of its Qatari parent) has announced the expansion of its 3.5G network to additional islands across the country. Since the launch of the company’s third-generation services in 2008, coverage has been increased from an initial eight islands to 166, including: Kaafu Gaafaru, Raa Vadhoo, Kaafu Huraa, Dhaal Hulhudeli, Shaviyani Foakaidhoo, Meemu Dhiggaru, Raa Maakurath, Kaafu Guraidhoo, Meemu Muli, Noonu Manadhoo, Thaa Vemandoo, Thaa Guraidhoo and Laamu Gan Thundi.
