VIPnet, B.net upgrade cable internet to 120Mbps

11 Dec 2013

Croatian quadruple-play operator VIPnet (which includes cableco subsidiary B.net) has doubled the maximum download speed for its cable broadband internet customers to 120Mbps, available to more than 300,000 households passed by its EuroDOCSIS 3.0 hybrid fibre coaxial (HFC) network including a presence in the largest Croatian cities: Zagreb, Split, Rijeka, Osijek, Zadar, Velika Gorica, Solin and Zapresic. For subscribers to the VIPnet brand, new premium 120Mbps packages are available starting at HRK600 (USD107.90) per month with no contract, or with a twelve-month contract and at special promotional prices with a 24-month contract up until 31 December. For B.net customers, the new super-fast internet option is available with a twelve-month contract starting at HRK596 per month. Besides introducing the new speeds, for all VIPnet and B.net customers of internet options with transfer speeds of up to 60Mbps (the previous highest speed), the price is reduced by HRK150, meaning that VIPnet standalone package customers now pay HRK500 for 60Mbps while B.net customers will pay HRK496. CommsUpdate reported that VIPnet/B.net introduced the previous maximum 60Mbps cable broadband speeds, up from 32Mbps, in March via the expansion of HFC DOCSIS 3.0.
