Hi3G expands LTE network in Fredensborg, Allerod

Danish mobile operator Hi3G Access (3) has announced the upgrade of its networks to 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) technology in the municipalities of Allerod and Fredensborg. According to a company press release, the cellco has upgraded 11 base transceiver stations (BTS) in Fredensborg, expanding LTE coverage to the towns of Kokkedal, Godalming, Slangerup, Humlebaek, Skibby and Gorlose. In the Allerod municipality, the company has upgraded a total of four masts, and as a result, has also improved coverage in the centre and surrounding area of Allerod. Kim Christensen, head of Hi3G Access’ Network Engineering department, said: ‘We are constantly working to build new towers and upgrade the existing ones to the latest technology to ensure that the Danes continually get the best experience with 3 Denmark. I am very pleased that the citizens of Fredensborg and Allerod now [can] also benefit from the high speeds of 3’s 4G/LTE network, which will cover over 75% of the population by the end of the year.’
