Poland is now home to some 600,000 customers of mobile virtual network operators (MVNOs), with take-up being spurred by a decrease in wholesale termination charges. According to Rzeczpospolita, there are now around 25 firms actively operating as MVNOs, with another – Multimedia Polska – set to enter the market early next year. There is a surprisingly uneven distribution of MVNO agreements between the country’s four network operators; while market leader PTC/T-Mobile has just one deal in place, rival firm Polkomtel/Plus has 13. Second-placed Orange has five MVNO arrangements, meanwhile, and P4/Play manages nine. According to TeleGeography there are more than 300 companies in total registered as authorised to provide MVNO/resale services in Poland.
