Disney to enter Argentine telecoms market

28 Nov 2013

The Walt Disney Company Argentina has received permission to provide fixed and mobile telecommunications services in the country, La Nacion reports. Telecoms regulator Comision Nacional de Comunicaciones (CNC) has registered the company for a period of three years, although Disney has not provided any details of its plans for the Argentine telecoms market. The company is already active in Japan, via a mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) agreement with Softbank, while a short-lived venture into the US MVNO market was shut down in 2007, TeleGeography’s GlobalComms Database notes.
