Internet service provider (ISP) Lagoon has unveiled a suite of broadband tariff plans in New Caledonia with speeds ranging from 2Mbps to 16Mbps, reports online portal Magazap. The ISP’s base level ‘Primo’ ADSL offer costs XPF4,793 (USD54.68) per month for a maximum download connection of 2Mbps (depending on eligibility & network load), for users with a requisite line rental with the national PTO Office des Postes et Telecoms de Nouvelle-Caledonie (OPT-NC). Lagoon says it expects users to receive typical download speeds of 0.5Mbps. Meanwhile, the ISP’s ‘Spido’ ADSL plan costs XPF6,893 per month – again, subject to a line rental fee – for a maximum 4Mbps connection (1Mbps reported as ‘typical’), with the faster ‘ADSL Nitro’ and ‘ADSL Alto’ plans offering peak 8Mbps and 16Mbps connections for XPF8,393 and XPF9,393 per month, with typical downloads of 2Mbps and 4Mbps, respectively.
