Etisalat cuts fixed line call rates to 162 countries

Emirates Telecommunications Corporation (Etisalat) is providing residential fixed line telephony calls to 162 countries at a rate of AED0.01 (USD0.003) per second, Emirates 24/7 reports. The new tariff is offered to customers of Etisalat’s residential landline and multi-play ‘eLife’ services in the United Arab Emirates, and is available for calls to countries including the Philippines, India, Pakistan, Sri Lanka, Bangladesh, the UK, the US, Canada, Egypt, Jordan, Oman, France and Russia, although a monthly charge of AED39 applies. ‘At Etisalat, we continuously strive to give our customers attractive offers that meet their needs. We want to make keeping in touch with friends and family easy and as affordable as possible for the large community within the UAE,’ commented Khaled El Khouly, chief marketing officer, at Etisalat, adding: ‘These new rates deliver incredible value to the residents of UAE, allowing them to talk longer to a wide range of countries around the world at a fixed rate of AED0.01 per second. This new attractive rate is permanent and customers can take advantage of [it] 24 hours a day, 365 days a year.’
