British mobile network operator O2 UK has further expanded its LTE infrastructure, with its network footprint now including the cities of Liverpool, Edinburgh and Newcastle, in line with previously announced plans.

As previously reported by TeleGeography’s CommsUpdate, earlier this month O2 UK confirmed that its 4G network covered 25% of the UK’s population, just nine weeks after commercial LTE services were launched. In detailing its rollout progress, the cellco said that more than 15 million Britons have access to its 4G infrastructure, with eleven ‘major cities’ covered, along with 90 other towns across the country.
