Megacom posts 6% rise in 9M revenue

Kyrgyz mobile network operator Megacom has reported revenue of KGS6.033 billion (USD124.3 million) for the nine months ended 30 September 2013, an increase of 6% year-on-year. The company reported a wireless subscriber base of 2.719 million at the end of October 2013 and revealed that its GSM network covers 95% of populated areas, up from 90% at the start of the year. Megacom says it aims to increase network coverage to up to 100% of populated areas in 2015. Earlier this month, the cellco announced that it had increased maximum download speeds available over its 3.5G network to 42Mbps, following the implementation of Dual Carrier (DC)-HSPA+ technology.
