Telkom 6M net revenues up 1.1% to ZAR13.165bn

Telkom South Africa has reported net revenue of ZAR13.165 billion (USD1.293 billion) for the six months ended 30 September 2013, up 1.1% from ZAR13.027 billion one year earlier. Meanwhile, EBITDA for the six-month period under review dropped 0.4% year-on-year from ZAR3.948 billion to ZAR3.933 billion. In operational terms, fixed line telephony customers grew 2.0% to 860,161 as at 30 September, while Telkom’s ADSL broadband subscriber base increased 6.7% to 898,203. Meanwhile, Telkom Mobile – which launched in October 2010 – claimed 1.598 million active subscribers by 30 September, a 6.9% rise on an annualised basis. Blended mobile ARPU dropped from ZAR68.6 to ZAR58.81.
