China’s third-placed wireless provider China Telecom has submitted a list of 16 potential mobile virtual network operator (MVNO) partners to the Ministry of Industry and Information Technology (MIIT), Marbridge Daily writes. The list includes: Suning, Gome, D.Phone, Shenzhen Aisidi Industry, Telling Telecom Holding, Longmaster Information & Technology, Bewinner Communications, Funtalk, HiChina, Jingdong, Lianlian Technology, Telephone World, Yonyou Software, 35.com, Changjiang Era and SoShare. China Unicom has already reviewed and green-lit 14 MVNO partners, although market leader China Mobile has remained tight-lipped regarding MVNO deals. As previously reported by CommsUpdate, each prospective MVNO must partner with at least two network operators, but most are expected to look for agreements with all three. The regulator is planning to hand out MVNO concessions later this year.
