Econet Wireless Zimbabwe, the country’s leading cellco in terms of subscribers, has signed an agreement with broadband network solutions provider Sandvine to roll out new service packages to support the growing demand for mobile data. According to a joint press release, Econet Wireless will utilise Sandvine’s Usage Management platform alongside plug-and-play capabilities, which will enable the provision of new revenue-generating services for Econet’s pre-paid and post-paid subscribers, including roaming notifications, bill shock prevention, family plans and data bundles. Leon de Fleuriot, Econet Wireless’ general manager of Products and Services department, said: ‘Sandvine’s technical accuracy and scalability gives us confidence that as our network and subscriber adoption continues to grow, so too will our service offerings.’
