13 Nov 2013

ETI, the leading internet service provider (ISP) in Guinea, has chosen Israel-based telecom solutions provider Telrad Networks to expand its broadband network from the capital Conakry to the rest of the country. According to a joint press release, ETI will use Telrad Networks’ end-to-end 4G platform in the 2.5GHz frequency band to deliver wireless voice and data services to a wide range of both enterprise and residential customers. With an advanced dynamic scheduling mechanism, the network prioritises voice transmissions to deliver a large number of voice sessions simultaneously. Further, the network upgrade will be rolled out in phases, utilising the product’s scalable features. ETI CTO Marc Civelli commented: ‘Telrad’s solutions possess the necessary quality of service, including wire-quality voice and robust data services that we require in order to deliver a superior customer experience. Additionally, Telrad offers a clear transition path to [Long TermEvolution] LTE, enabling us to simply transfer our network and customers to LTE when we are ready.’
