Taiwan Mobile Company, which surpassed Far EasTone as the country’s second-largest cellco by subscribers at the end of June 2013, has announced that it will increase its capital expenditure for 2013 by TWD660 million (USD22.4 million) to TWD13.5 billion, according to the Digitimes, which cites the operator’s president Cliff Lai.

At the end of last month Taiwan Mobile was named as one of six companies to have walked away from the government’s auction of 4G-suitable spectrum, having acquired a total of 30MHz of new frequencies for TWD29.01 billion; it won the ‘A4’ block in the 700MHz band and the ‘C1’ block in the 1800MHz band.
