T-HT and ETK in infrastructure sale and lease negotiations

5 Nov 2013

Croatian newspaper Poslovni claims that the country’s incumbent PSTN operator T-Hrvatksi Telekom (T-HT, including the former T-Mobile Croatia) has agreed in principle a deal to transfer the infrastructure part of its business to Ericsson Nikola Tesla (ETK), the local unit of Swedish technology group Ericsson, while the parties are in ongoing discussions on finalising a price for the sale. According to sources cited by the paper, T-HT aims to sell its infrastructure and lease the usage of it to cut operating costs, while ETK was reportedly favoured over other candidates Nokia Solutions & Networks (NSN) and Huawei Technologies. No approximate price for the infrastructure assets has been revealed, nor did the unconfirmed report specify whether the infrastructure sale would involve all T-HT’s fixed and mobile networks, or selected assets.
