5 Nov 2013

Paraguayan regulator Consejo Nacional de Telecomunicaciones (Conatel) intends to deploy free Wi-Fi networks in 50 town plazas across 37 municipalities, La Nacion reports. The scheme will be bankrolled by the Universal Service Fund (USF), and Conatel chief Neri Gonzales has confirmed that the bidding terms will be issued in the first week of November. Going forward, at least one square in each of Paraguay’s 129 districts will have free Wi-Fi by 2015.
