Bluegrass Cellular extends LTE to additional Kentucky counties

5 Nov 2013

US regional mobile operator Bluegrass Cellular has expanded its Kentucky-based 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to the counties of Allen, Barren, LaRue and Simpson, as well as into the city of Garfield. The network expansion is part of Bluegrass Cellular’s LTE in Rural America (LRA) partnership with Verizon Wireless. Under the terms of the agreement Verizon has leased Bluegrass a portion of its upper C block 700MHz spectrum in areas where it has not constructed a 4G network itself. In turn, Bluegrass subscribers benefit from a nationwide roaming agreement across Verizon’s national network.
