Vodafone extends LTE connectivity to Hamilton

25 Oct 2013

Vodafone New Zealand has announced that it is in the process of extending its 4G Long Term Evolution (LTE) network to Hamilton, the most populous city of the Waikato Region, in the North Island. To that end, the cellco says it has activated the technology at the Waikato Stadium and Waikato Hospital. Matt Williams, Vodafone’s consumer director, commented: ‘With 4G at six locations around Hamilton by Christmas and reaching nearly 70% of Hamilton’s population by March 2014, there is even more opportunity for locals and visitors to experience the speed of 4G’.

Vodafone’s LTE network currently offers coverage to more 1.26 million Kiwis across nine towns and cities, namely: Auckland, Wellington, Christchurch, Queenstown, Wanaka, Lake Brunner, Taupo, New Plymouth and Palmerston North.
