Syniverse and Cellcom renew ties

23 Oct 2013

US-based vendor Syniverse has signed a multi-year data clearing contract renewal with Israeli mobile network operator Cellcom, under which the duo have extended their ‘long-standing’ relationship. With Cellcom having utilised Syniverse’s Data and Financial Clearing House for GSM since 2001 with a view to ensuring that its incoming roaming usage records are accurately and efficiently processed and settled in accordance with GSM Association guidelines, the vendor also provides the cellco with DataNet, its Near Real-Time Roaming Data Exchange (NRTRDE) platform that helps to combat roaming fraud. No financial details of the updated contract were disclosed. Commenting on the development, Daniella Torres, Cellcom’s head of international roaming, said: ‘Syniverse’s deep mobile knowledge has helped us swiftly navigate technology changes over the past ten-plus years.’
