Gilat Satcom establishes PoP in Ghana

23 Oct 2013

Gilat Satcom, a wholesale carrier offering satellite and fibre-based communication services in Africa, Asia and the Middle East, has established a new Point of Presence (PoP) in Ghana, in order to provide high-speed and cost-effective broadband connectivity over fibre to internet service providers (ISPs) and other private network operators across the country, BizTech Africa reports. According to the article, Gilat Satcom’s new PoP is directly connected to Ghana’s existing multiprotocol label switching (MPLS) fibre network and the West Africa Cable System (WACS) submarine network. Gilat Satcom’s CEO Dan Zjicek said: ‘We are investing heavily in both our fibre and satellite operations throughout Africa. This expansion of our service in Ghana will increase both capacity and speeds.’
