Copper Valley Telecom becomes latest Alaskan operator to launch LTE

Alaskan operator Copper Valley Telecom has become the latest telco to offer commercial Long Term Evolution (LTE) services in the US state. On 30 September the company turned on 4G connectivity at ten cell sites in Valdez, Prince William Sound and Cordova. The launch was confirmed by the Global mobile Suppliers Association (GSA) in its most recent LTE report.

Other regional US operators to have inaugurated commercial LTE networks this year are: Thumb Cellular (Michigan, January), MiSpot (Michigan, March), Adams Networks (Illinois, May), NorthWest Cell (Missouri, May), Chat Mobility (Iowa, May), Appalachian Wireless (Kentucky, June), Evolve Broadband (Texas, June), Matanuska Telephone Association (Alaska, September), Custer Telephone (Idaho, September) and Enhanced Telecommunications Corporation (Indiana, September).
