BT Italia swaps network partner, embraces ‘full MVNO’ status

21 Oct 2013

BT Italia, the Italian subsidiary of the UK’s BT Group, has reportedly opted to switch its reseller status to that of a ‘full’ mobile virtual network operator’ (MVNO), thus achieving better control of its day-to-day business and SIM card management. Further, in order to facilitate the changes BT Italia has changed its network partner from Vodafone Italy to Telecom Italia Mobile (TIM). An agreement to that effect was reportedly signed in August, but the network changeover is not actually expected to take place until sometime in 2014.
