Australia’s AAPT is said to have been put up for auction by parent company Telecom New Zealand, according to the Australian Financial Review, which claims a deal for the company could be worth more than AUD400 million (USD372 million). While a divestment of AAPT has long been suggested as an option for Telecom – in August 2013 the New Zealand-based company said a review of its strategy in Australia, which it aims to complete before the end of FY 2014 (end-June 2014), could include the sale of AAPT – a Telecom spokesman said the company did not comment on market speculations or rumours.
