DT considers offloading T-Mobile Austria towers

18 Oct 2013

T-Mobile Austria is said to be considering launching a process to offload its cell towers in the country, in what would be a European first for parent Deutsche Telekom (DT). Unnamed bankers told TMT Finance that the German owner has been assessing a number of options over the past six months, one of which is an Austrian towers sale.

DT has not disposed of any of its European towers to date, although it did hire Deutsche Bank and TAP Advisers to sell 7,200 towers belonging to its US subsidiary T-Mobile US to Crown Castle for USD2.4 billion in September 2012.
